Beer Scoring
Small, traditional and friendly one-roomed local built on the site of Idle Manor and dating from before 1750. Affectionately nicknamed "The Scruffy", it is popular and busy especially during the cricket season. A disused well was discovered inside some years ago. The servery has a total of five hand-pulls although only three were in use when visited in Feb 2024. The real ales are usually from regional breweries but may include some from further afield. There are also seven keg taps for lagers, a commercial bitter and Guinness and two additional keg taps for cider. The beer garden is popular in good weather and a window at the back of the bar serves it. Quiz nights are held on Thursdays and Sundays. A number of pictures of Idle from days gone by adorn the walls. The pub has its own golfing society and local farm produce is sold when it is in season.
