Privately-owned attractive hotel which dates back to the 17th-century, although two modern annexes have been added on either side. Internally, there is a complex arrangement of inter-connected rooms, substantially refurbished in 2005. These include a long narrow public bar, a corridor with settees leading to the rear entrance (where the reception is located), a lounge, two dining rooms (one with a carvery), plus the 70-seater 'Royal Boar Restaurant'. The hotel offers a wide range of food options from snacks to full meals, including a children's menu; breakfasts are also served.
